The Jewelry Sommelier
Hello lovely!
There's no better time than the present, and I think I couldn't find a more fitting time to post for the first time in my new online space at Jewelry Studio in Stone Harbor. As resident stylist, curator and, now, blogger, I'm excited to have a place to pen all my thoughts and feelings about my absolute passion (jewelry...wine is a second; more on that later), and share with you all the new and exciting things going on in The Studio and in the jewelry world at large.
So here we are! And here's what to expect:
A little splash of sparkle.
My pouring over gorgeous gems and juicy jewels.
A style guide to must haves (and must sips).
And a spilling of the hottest, latest and greatest when it comes to designers, trade secrets, and insider happenings.
Oh, and I throw one heck of a party, so make sure you [[[subscribe]]] to my emails to join the inner circle of the Studio Society. You'll get invites to all our events, special designer meet-and-greets, giveaways, tips & tricks of the trade, exclusive content and sometimes I'll share a look into my little blue book of sketches I'm working on.
I've spent my life thus far in pursuit of the best the Earth has to offer, and I'm ready to start sharing with you.

Let's take a closer look at the definition of the word "Sommelier."
Wikipedia says, "A sommelier, or wine steward, is a trained and knowledgeable wine professional, normally working in fine restaurants, who specializes in all aspects of wine service as well as wine and food pairing. The role in fine dining today is much more specialized and informed than that of a wine waiter." This indivdual who holds the title sommelier is a pro. He or she knows what the best of the best is, and is a reliable source for the finest quality for those with discerning taste. After a rigorous education at the prestigious Gemology Institute of America, that is, by far, the industry authority for all things technical behind diamonds and gemstones, I have emerged a bit of a sommelier of jewels, gems and jewelry. I've worked in fine jewelry my whole life and have traveled far and wide, worked with and beside some of the most esteemed individuals in the jewelry world (from gem and diamond cutters, to mine holders, to award-winning designers, high profile manufacturers and publishing editors). There is such a great love and sense of pride for what I do.
Somewhere in that blend of exposure at a young age, an insatiable knack for asking too many questions, fascination with anything with a facet, appreciation of old school and new school artistry, unexpectedly formed friendships, some jet-setting, and a liiiittttttttttlllleeeee bit of chardonnay, you'll find me:
The Jewelry Sommelier.
Head of the house of The Studio for all fine jewelry pairings.
